He plans to add another frontcourt player, using the veteran minimum salary slot. Ex-Piston Ben Wallace, whose contract was recently bought out by Phoenix, is a possibility. So is journeyman Rasho Nesterovic.
Dumars may also add another point guard to back up Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum. --F Charlie Villanueva is an admitted Twitter fanatic. He's constantly updating his page and recently lost a contest with Toronto's Chris Bosh on who would be the first to have 50,000 followers.
He also irritated Milwaukee coach Scott Skiles during a game last season by posting a halftime message.
"I just want to keep the fans involved," he said. "It's a good social network."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "When people were saying 'Wait 'til next summer' -- no, you don't wait until next summer because you don't know what's happening. When those (lower league-wide salary-cap) numbers came out, you see why you don't sit there and wait until 2010." -- President of basketball operations Joe Dumars, on why he chose to use his $20 million in salary-cap space this summer instead of waiting on the potentially superstar-laden free agent market next year.
