Detroit Pistons Notes, Quotes 2009-11-08
--John Kuester was quick to identify his team's problem Friday night: Orlando's 40-point first quarter.

"The thing that really hurt us was the way (Orlando) came out and scored in the first quarter," he said. "We have to start at a different pace on the road by getting good looks and playing sound defense."

"Any time you let a team score that many points in any quarter it's going to be tough to come back from that," said Pistons guard Ben Goordon. "You're fighting an uphill battle. You have to be tight on defense."

Rodney Stuckey, on the need for better defense: "We don't have a problem scoring on this team. We have a lot of scorers. It's all about our defense."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I was very happy for Charlie and that's why we brought him to our team. We wanted an offensive boost especially at the forward position. He really did a nice job (Friday night)." -- Coach John Kuester, on the impact of F Charlie Villanueva on Friday's game.
