Detroit Pistons Roster Report 2008-11-01

ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Chauncey Billups, Shooting guard Richard Hamilton, Small forward Tayshaun Prince, Power forward Amir Johnson, Center Rasheed Wallace. Bench -- Guard Rodney Stuckey, Guard Arron Afflalo, Forward Walter Herrmann, Forward Jason Maxiell, Center Antonio McDyess.

PLAYER NOTES:

--Forward Amir Johnson played well in his first start, though he didn't rack up big numbers. He scored all six of his points on jumpers from the wing, a surprise. He also made three blocks and grabbed six rebounds, three on the offensive end.

--C Kwame Brown had a rather forgettable Pistons debut. Brown, the Pistons' top free-agent acquisition, missed two first-quarter shots in three minutes and didn't play again. The Pacers only used rookie center Roy Hibbert six minutes and he was the player that coach Michael Curry wanted to match up with Brown.

--F Tayshaun Prince took 15 shots, more than any of his teammates, and that could be the start of a trend. Coach Michael Curry expects Prince to have an All-Star season and wants to feature him in the offensive attack much more than predecessor Flip Saunders did.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--C Kwame Brown missed the last two preseason games with a right shoulder strain but was healthy enough to play in the opener.
