Marissa Coleman (right) wills Terps to win - It won't get the same attention, but Coleman's 42-point, 15-rebound performance in Saturday's regional semifinal should go down as one of the best games in Maryland Basketball history. With her team trailing Vanderbilt by nine points with 4 1/2 minutes left, Coleman scored seven straight points to start the comeback, then hit a jumper with 29 seconds left to put Maryland ahead for good. If the Terps reach the Final Four and upset undefeated Connecticut, here's hoping Coleman and fellow senior Kristi Toliver are known as Maryland Basketball - not just women's Basketball - greats.
Gilbert Arenas returns - He may have looked rusty, shooting 3-for-12, but Arenas' return injected life into a Wizards game at Verizon Center for the first time all season. A blocked 3-pointer by Kwame Brown - yes, Kwame Brown - ruined the potential storybook ending, but if Arenas can deliver one "dagger" in the next few weeks, it might provide some optimism heading into next season. 1. Arizona - The Kentucky opening will get more attention, but the fan base is less delusional. And Arizona has been just as good, if not better, than Kentucky in recent years.
2. Kentucky - In the past week, we've learned you have two years to turn around the program, you have to act as the state spokesman and you will be chased through hallways by TV cameras when you get fired. Where do we sign?
3. Virginia - New arena in a high-profile conference, but the roster is bare sans Landesberg and Scott.
4. Georgia - Always has been and always will be a football school. But it's a football school with boosters willing to spend money to win at all costs.
5. Virginia Commonwealth - VCU will get bumped once a high-profile coach leaves for Arizona or Kentucky, but Anthony Grant proved a CAA school other than George Mason could win in March.
